Updating the firmware

Updating the firmware fixes bugs and adds new features. Make sure the firmware is up-to-date at all times.

Caution

Complete the following preparations before updating the firmware. Updating the firmware will not be possible if all of the conditions are not satisfied.

• Charge the AVVENTURA if the remaining battery power is low.
Charging the AVVENTURA

• Connect the AVVENTURA to a smartphone (Cateye Cycling™) with Internet connectivity.

• For iPhone users, go to a location where the AVVENTURA can receive GPS signals.

Important

• Updating the firmware can only be performed when the AVVENTURA is connected to the smartphone (Cateye Cycling™).

• Do not disconnect the AVVENTURA from the smartphone (Cateye Cycling™) while updating the firmware. Doing so will cancel the firmware update.

• The firmware update will continue even if Cateye Cycling™ moves to the background.

Smartphone

Tap (Other) > [Device] > [AVVENTURA] > [Update Firmware], and follow the procedure below.

1. Tap [Firmware Update].

* [Firmware Update] will not be displayed if the remaining battery power of the AVVENTURA is low.

2. Follow the instructions on the screen to update the firmware.

After the firmware has been transferred, the AVVENTURA will begin installing the new firmware. Please wait for the firmware to finish installing.

AVVENTURA

When the firmware update is complete, the initialization screen is displayed.

3. Verify that [Restart] is flashing, and press SS to confirm.

Caution

Note that formatting will restore the AVVENTURA to factory default settings.
