Display trouble
Screen is blank
Nothing is displayed when (POWER) is pressed for 1 seconds.
The screen is blank after the power is turned on and “GPS Searching” flashes.
• The AVVENTURA’s rechargeable battery is flat.
Follow the procedure under “Charging the AVVENTURA” to charge the AVVENTURA.
Measurement data values are not accurate (when measuring speed using GPS)
Depending on reception conditions of the GPS signal, measurement may be interrupted or indicate values inconsistent with the actual values.
For details, see “No GPS signal available” under measurement troubles.
Measurement values for ascending altitude vary
As altitude measurement relies on GPS, it may be different from the actual altitude.
Measurements from connected sensors are not displayed on the measurement screen
Is the desired measurement data displayed on the measurement screen?
• Data for cadence, heart rate, and power is not be displayed under the initial configuration of the AVVENTURA measurement screen.
Customize the measurement screen to display the desired measurements.[--] is displayed instead of the measurement.
Press the RESET button on the sensor.
(Insufficient Memory) is displayed constantly on the screen
The maximum recording time for the AVVENTURA has exceeded the limit. While this symbol is displayed, the oldest trip will be deleted in order to make room for new measurements.
Freeing up memory space is recommended by deleting unnecessary trip data on the AVVENTURA using a smartphone (Cateye Cycling™) or PC.
Speed, cadence, and heart rate values are flashing
The battery of the connected sensor is flat.
• Replace the battery with a new one.

Screen is frozen
The following procedure explains how to restart the AVVENTURA.
* Restarting will make measurement possible again, but all current measurement data will be lost.
AVVENTURA
1. Open the jack cover on the back of the AVVENTURA, and press the AC button.

The initialization screen is displayed.
Caution
Keep the jack cover firmly in place to maintain waterproofness.
2. Verify that [Restart] is flashing, and press SS to confirm.
Caution
Note that formatting will restore the AVVENTURA to factory default settings.
Enter
The display will return to the GPS search screen.
Compass points the wrong way
Because the compass measurement relies on GPS, the direction may be different from the actual direction in some cases, such as when stopped.
Simple Navigation cannot be displayed
Has Simple Navigation been set to be displayed?
• After a goal is specified on the smartphone (Cateye Cycling™), the information is transferred to the AVVENTURA. Press OPTION to select “Simple Navigation display.”
Is the measurement screen segmentation set to 4, 6B, or 7 segments?
• Simple Navigation is not displayed when measurement screen segmentation is set to 4, 6B, or 7 segments. Please select a different screen segment option.
Heart rate measurement is unstable and alternates between 0 and a value
Is the heart rate sensor attached correctly?
• Refer to the heart rate sensor instruction manual and attach the heart rate sensor in the correct position.
* For a CATEYE heart rate sensor, ensure that the CATEYE logo is facing in the proper direction (up).
Try attaching the heart rate sensor upside-down.
Reversing the direction may make measurement easier in some cases.
* For a CATEYE heart rate sensor, ensure that the CATEYE logo is facing in the proper direction (up).
Try moving the electrode from left to right so that it sits over your heart.
This may improve the heart rate display in some cases.
Measurement is displayed even after removing the sensor
When using a sensor made by another company, measurements may continue to be displayed over long periods.
