Code of Conduct
1. Respecting the Laws and Internationally Recognized Standards.
We shall comply with the applicable laws and regulations of all countries and regions in which we conduct our business activities, and we shall respect international norms of behavior.
2 .Human Rights and Labor
In addition to complying with relevant laws and regulations, we shall refer to international human rights standards and respect the human rights of workers.
(2-1) Prohibiting Forced Labor
All labor shall be voluntary, and we shall ensure that employees are free to leave their employment. We shall not engage in any form of forced labor.
(2-2) Prohibiting Child Labor and Respecting the Rights of Young Workers
We shall not permit the labor of children who have not reached the minimum age for employment as stipulated by the applicable laws and regulations of any country or region in which we operate. Furthermore, with respect to young workers as designated by applicable laws and regulations, we shall not permit them to engage in hazardous work, night work, or overtime that may jeopardize their health or safety.
(2-3) Decent Working Hours
We shall not require workers to work in excess of the limits stipulated by the laws and regulations of the region in which they are employed. We shall also properly manage workers' working hours and holidays in consideration of international standards.
(2-6) Prohibiting Discrimination
We shall not engage in discrimination based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, or other characteristics in any aspect of employment, including but not limited to application, recruitment, promotion, wages, dismissal, retirement, work assignment, and disciplinary action.
(2-7) Freedom of Association and Right to Collective Bargaining
In compliance with the laws and regulations of the countries in which we operate, we shall respect the right of workers to organize as a means to achieve labor-management consultation on matters such as working conditions and wage levels.
3. Health and Safety
We shall be mindful of the laws and regulations of the place of employment, and we shall respect, promote, and realize a safe and hygienic working environment to minimize work-related injuries and illnesses of mind and body.
4. Environmental and Social Impact
We fully recognize that addressing environmental and social impacts--including adverse changes to soil, air emissions, noise pollution, water pollution, biodiversity conservation, and excessive use of resources--is an essential requirement for our business activities. We shall comply with the laws and regulations of each country and region and proactively address these issues.
(4-1) Reducing Energy Consumption and Greenhouse Gas Emissions
To contribute to the prevention of global warming, we shall work to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from our business activities. We shall also endeavor to engage in resource conservation, energy conservation, and recycling.
(4-2) Effective Utilization of Resources and Waste Management
We shall comply with the national and local laws and regulations of the countries and regions in which we operate to promote recycling through the proper treatment and recycling of waste. We shall strive to make effective use of resources and minimize waste generation.
(4-3) Chemical Substance Management
In compliance with the national and local laws and regulations of the countries and regions in which we operate, we shall identify, label, and manage chemical and other substances that pose a hazard to humans or the environment to ensure they are handled, moved, stored, used, recycled or reused, and disposed of safely.
(4-4) Managing the Chemical Substances Contained in Products
We shall comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and customer requirements regarding the prohibition or restriction of certain substances contained in our products.
5. Fair Trading and Ethics
We shall not engage in any form of bribery, corruption, extortion, or embezzlement. We shall not promise, offer, authorize, or accept any bribes or other means of obtaining an undue or improper advantage.
(5-1) Respecting Intellectual Property
We shall respect intellectual property rights and ensure that technology and know-how are transferred in a manner that protects intellectual property. We shall also protect the intellectual property of third parties, including customers and suppliers.
(5-2) Conducting Fair Business
We shall comply with domestic and international laws and other social norms, and conduct our corporate activities based on fair, transparent, and free competition. Furthermore, we shall hold no relationships with anti-social forces and shall not be involved in individual or organized crime, such as terrorism, drug trafficking, or money laundering.
(5-3) Protecting Whistleblowers
We shall protect the confidentiality of information related to concerns raised and the anonymity of whistleblowers, and we shall prohibit retaliation against any person who makes a report.
(5-4) Responsible Minerals Procurement
We shall conduct due diligence to determine whether the minerals contained in the products we manufacture are causing or contributing to serious human rights abuses, environmental degradation, corruption, or conflict in conflict-affected and high-risk areas.
6. Protecting Personal Information
We shall comply with the applicable laws and regulations of the countries and regions relevant to our business activities concerning all personal information of suppliers, customers, consumers, and employees, and shall manage and protect it appropriately.
7. Contribution to society
We recognize the diversity of countries and regions, and as a member of society, we shall respect their cultures and customs and contribute to their development. As a good corporate citizen, we shall also actively participate in social contribution activities.
